How do I sell my used car online?
All you need to do to sell your car is enter your vehicle registration and then answer a few questions about your car. It takes about 5 minutes to complete the form which will give us all the info we need to make you a cash offer for your car.
How much will it cost me to sell my car?
We don't charge any fees for people wanting to sell their car. Our services are free and you are not obliged to accept an offer from We Buy Cars or any of our associates.
Will I be inundated by phone calls from dealers hassling me to sell my car to them?
Definitely not. Although we do ask you for your phone number, and you may receive a call from one of our buyers making you an offer, you are under no obligation to accept. Our buyers will not be offended if you do not accept their offer. Most buyers will usually contact you by email before phoning.
Will I be required to bring my car to you for an appraisal?
No. Our buyers will be more than happy to visit you at a convenient location such as home or work to carry out a physical appraisal of your car.
What about paying me for the car?
If the buyer is happy with your car and you both agree on the price then the money will be immediately transferred into your bank account. The buyer will be happy to wait whilst you verify the transaction with your bank.
How long does it take to sell my car?
If our buyers like the look of your car from the description that you provided us with, then they will usually make an offer within 24-48 hours. It's then up to you to arrange a convenient time for payment and collection.
What documentation should I provide?
You will definitely need the V5 log book for your car. If you have stated that the car has an MOT and service history you will also need to provide the mot certificate and either the service book or receipts for each service. If you have lost your V5 you will need to complete a V62 form in order to obtain a replacement. The V62 form is available from the Post Office or can be downloaded here.
Can I sell my car if I have outstanding finance?
Yes. In most cases the buyer will offer to pay off any outstanding finance and pay you the difference.
I'm looking to buy a new car. How is this different from part-exchanging my car?
You are likely to receive a better price for your car using our service than you will by part-exchanging your car at a dealership. Also, the buyers will come to you with an offer rather than you taking your car to a dealership. You are much better off buying a car with cash in your pocket than offering your old car as part of the deal.
